**Subject Code and Title:** ECS323 Enterprise Computing Systems

**Assessment:** Data Management Project Proposal

**Learning Outcomes:** 
The Subject Learning Outcomes demonstrated by successful completion of the task below include:
- b) Investigate and critique ICT tools and technologies in enterprise computing in consideration of human factors and cybersecurity.
- c) Design and develop an enterprise computing solution that comprises data and information management systems to satisfy the client requirements.
- d) Exemplify professional communication, ethical practice, and teamwork in the development of enterprise computing systems.
- e) Practice agile approaches in the development of enterprise computing solutions.

**Submission:** 
- 12-week duration: Due by 11:55pm AEST/AEDT Sunday end of Module 8 (Week 8).
- 6-week duration: Due by 11:55pm AEST/AEDT Sunday end of Module 8 (Week 4).

**Weighting:** 35%

**Total Marks:** 100 marks

**Assessment Task:**
As a group, develop/write a 1500-word business proposal that demonstrates your understanding of data management in enterprise computing, enterprise computing network and security, enterprise cloud computing, and emerging trends in enterprise computing for one of the organizations suggested in the Instructions section.

**Context:**
For this assignment, you are required to work in groups of three to four students. This project proposal should be approximately 1500 words (+/- 10%), excluding the cover page, table of contents, reference list, and appendix. This proposal must be typed and presented professionally.

**Instructions:**

1. **Group Formation:**
   - Form a group with a maximum of 4 members.
   - Your group must be formed by the end of Module 4 (Week 4).
   - Register your group by sending your Learning Facilitator an email with “ECS323 Group Registration” in the subject line. Include the names and student ID numbers of all group members and CC other students in your email.
   - Deadline for group registration: 11:45pm AEST on Friday at the end of Module 4 (Week 4).
   - Students not in a group by the deadline will be allocated to a group by the Learning Facilitator.
   - Note: You will work with your group members for Assessment Tasks 2 and 3.

2. **Group Contract:**
   - Complete and submit a group contract to your Learning Facilitator by the end of Module 6.
   - The group contract should outline the rules, conditions, roles, and responsibilities of each group member. Attach it as an appendix to the report.
   - Keep records of all communications and drafts. Report any serious concerns about a group member’s contribution to your Learning Facilitator as soon as they occur.

3. **Organization Selection:**
   - Select an organization from the topics introduced in Assessment 1. Include the topic number for the organization chosen in your group contract.

4. **Vendors Selection:**
   - Choose vendors that offer applications, performance, and functionality to address the organization's enterprise computing problems. Include the name of vendors chosen in your group contract.

5. **Technology Solution Module Selection/Development:**
   - Investigate and identify suitable technology solution modules for each vendor to meet client requirements. The technical design must address the integration of these solution modules to meet quality performance assurance.

6. **Agile Solution Proposal:**
   - Develop a technical design proposal comparing selected vendors, explaining why they were chosen, highlighting their products, features, functionality, cost, and performance, and how they address specific needs and challenges of enterprise computing systems in the selected organization.

**Proposal Structure:**

- **Title page:** Subject code and name, assignment title, group number, students’ names, students’ numbers, topic number of the selected organization, and lecturer’s name.
- **Executive Summary:** Highlight the selected organization (topic), vendors, and key findings.
- **Table of Contents**
- **Introduction (200–250 words):** State the area of research and its context (selected organization and vendors), key concepts addressed, and what the reader can expect in the body of the report.
- **Body of the report (1000–1100 words):**
  - Overview of the selected organization.
  - Overview of the selected vendors and their products.
  - List of enterprise computing problems and issues addressed.
  - Technical design schematic using Unified Modeling Languages (UMLs).
  - Comparative analysis of two selected vendors.
  - Plan on accommodating enterprise system requirements through an agile solution approach.
  - Consideration of alignment to TOGAF and/or Zachman framework.
  - Consideration of ethics and societal impacts of technical recommendations.
- **Conclusion (200–250 words)**
- **Reference list:** Include at least 6 academic resources.

**Format of the Report:**

- Use font Arial or Calibri 11 point, line spaced at 1.5, with page numbers on the bottom of each page.
- Diagrams and tables should be properly captioned and formatted to avoid splitting information over pages.

**Referencing:**

- Use appropriate APA style for citing and referencing research.
- Include at least 6 academic resources.

**Submission Instructions:**

- Submit Assessment 2 as a PDF file via the Assessment link in the main navigation menu in ECS323, Enterprise Computing Systems.
- All members must submit the PDF file individually.
- Name your submission as follows: ECS323_[your group number and your name]_Assessment2.pdf.
- Feedback will be provided via the Grade Centre in the LMS portal. Feedback can be viewed in My Grades.

**Academic Integrity:**

- Ensure all work submitted is original and properly referenced according to the Academic Writing Guide.
- Keep a copy of all submitted material and assessment drafts.

**Special Consideration:**
